Op-eds & Opinions

While news coverage and reports are my main forms of writing, I also enjoy writing opinion pieces.

Journalists can have opinions, too.

The Columbia Political Review

I joined the staff of the Columbia Political Review in the fall of 2024, writing for their American Politics Cohort. Now, I have worked as a senior editor in both the American Politics cohort and for CPR's Column division. Through CPR, I have explored my interest in domestic politics with a focus on the media and its impact on voters, as well as its necessity to democracy.

Columbia Daily Spectator

Before joining the University News staff of the Columbia Daily Spectator, I penned an op-ed for their Opinion section the summer before my freshman year of college. Entering Columbia during a time of polarization and rising tensions brought worries to both me and my family. While I hesitated to publish my opinions on the campus climate, the support and thanks I received from my fellow incoming first-years proved to me that I made the right choice.

That my voice should be - and was - heard.

The Blueprint

My time at my high school newspaper was also mainly comprised of news and feature stories, but it was through my first opinion pieces and my political column, "Fired Up," that I started to grow my confidence in opinion writing. Here are a few of my favorites.
