Student Journalist of the Year Portfolio

In the spring of 2024, I was named Florida Student Journalist of the Year by the Florida Scholastic Press Association. One month after being the first student from my public high school to earn this recognition, I became only the second Floridian to be named a runner-up for National Student Journalist of the Year by the Journalism Education Association.

To earn these honors, I created my first online portfolio to overview my journalism experience throughout my high school career. This portfolio included sections on reporting, editing, design, videography, photography, web design, leadership, news literacy, commitment to diversity, and marketing.

 

I worked on the portfolio daily for two months.

The time and effort paid off.
